Hazed and Confused Juicy IPA by Muskoka Brewery

Hello and a big welcome to Beers and Such, the all time best craft beer review site ever created by anyone that has lived or does live in my house. This is where craft beers are reviewed by someone with no expertise or special qualifications, just a desire to explore and a general appreciation for beer.

Today we're going to take a boo at Hazed and Confused Juicy IPA by Muskoka Brewery way up in Bracebridge, Ontario. If I was to take the picture on the can as a warning, it seems to indicate this beer might make oranges explode out of my head. At 6.5%, my head would feel like oranges were exploding out of it after too many of these drinks.

I'm such a light weight.

The can also says this is a New England style IPA, which I have a less than stellar history with. However, this one smells really good. It's fruity smelling, and I don't pick up any of the over done bitterness that accompanies the standard NEIPA. Let's hope my nose knows what it's smelling.

Enough blabbing on, already. Let's taste this thing.

Hot damn, that's really good. Wow. It starts out clean and fruity, not overdone and very well balanced with the middle stanza that tastes like goodness. I can't quite place what that good flavour is, but I like it. It finishes super clean with no bitterness, and little to no aftertaste.

This is a really good beer, and I'm really happy it isn't smacking me in the face with any of its flavours. It's clean, it's light tasting, and its really well balanced. I like this beer.

I could really see sitting around with a few of the boys sipping this beer watching the game or playing poker. I could also see sitting on a patio, or around a fire. I can see drinking this one almost alone in front of my laptop telling the faceless world of the internet all about it. It just fits in so many situations.

My rating: 10/10. That's right, I said it. I don't give many not-black beers such high marks, but this one is really good.

My lovely but wildly inconsistent wife is my second sipper and not at all a fan of IPA's.

My wife's rating: 3/10. Harsh if you ask me, but then I asked her, so there's that.

There you have it, friends. Hazed and Confused Juicy IPA by Muskoka Brewery is a surprisingly delicious New England Style IPA brewed up in Bracebridge, Ontario. I highly recommend this one and I'm sure I'll be buying this one again. Check out the rest of Muskoka Brewery's line up at muskokabrewery.com
