Today is a guest submission from way out west in Alberta by a loyal fan of the site and return contributor, Jason A.
Mr A. is a man of few words, which I will include in the review, so I did a bit of research on the old inneynet to provide some additional information to anyone interested in trying one of these brews.
First up is Peach Sour brought to you by Railyard Brewing in Calgary, Alberta. There isn't really much of a description on the website, but I do know it's 5.2%, so it'll do the job. The folks are Railyard Brewing describe it as having a "crisp, tart flavour. Nice and fruity with a refreshing finish."
Jason has a different take on this brew: "Peach sour, kinda shitty, choked it down but whatever"
My guess is Railyard won't be contacting him for help with their marketing campaign. That being said, I've never tried a sour I didn't hate, so I appreciate the honest review.
You can check out this beer and all the others Railyard has to offer at railyardbrewing.ca
The second beer up for review is Aprikat by Alleykat Brewery in Edmonton, Alberta. It's a wheat ale base with natural apricot extract which is said to add a taste of apricot along with the graininess of the wheat ale. It's 5%, so no worries about drinking all night and not getting silly.
Word on the street is this beer is better than Peach Sour reviewed above. You're probably dying to see what Jason had to say about this beer so I won't keep you waiting any longer.
"Aprikat, apricot ale, pretty good. 5% alcohol, 12 IBU. Much better that the sour."
I can't argue with that.
If you want to see what else Alleykat has to offer (and I see a few that have my attention) check out their website alleykatbeer.com
There you have it friends. I'd like to thank Jason A. for the contribution and review. If you have a beer you'd like to see reviewed, feel free to comment on this site or go ahead and join the facebook group of the same name and post on there.
